DIMMU BORGIR Turn Down KORN Tour, Prepare To Film New Video
September 23, 2005Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR have posted the following message on their official web site:
"DIMMU BORGIR are planning to record a video from the 'Stormblåst 2005' release together with Patrick Ullaeus and Revolver Films.
"Shagrath [vocals] is busy working on his band CHROME DIVISION together with Lex Icon of COVENANT, Luna of ASHES TO ASHES, Eddie Guz of THE CARBURETORS, and Ricky Black. They are currently working and recording material for their debut album. Their new website will be up and running shortly with more info on the band.
"Silenoz [guitar] is working on his project INSIDIOUS DISEASE and demo will be ready shortly. They have 12-13 songs ready and they will put up a strong demo just in case a record company should give dem an offer.
"There will be no live performances for the rest of the year after DIMMU BORGIR turned down the offer on going on tour with KORN in Scandinavia. DIMMU BORGIR hope start working on the new album in October 2005."
As previously reported, the updated, re-recorded version of DIMMU BORGIR's 1996 album, "Stormblåst" is scheduled for release on November 7 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album was completely re-recorded with producer Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) and MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums. Check out the album's new artwork at Rockdetector.com.
The new version of "Stormblåst" adds two brand-new audio tracks, "Sorgens Kammer – Del II" and "Abmaktslave", plus a live DVD of an entire set filmed from last year's Ozzfest.
DIMMU BORGIR are scheduled to begin writing material for their next studio album this fall for a tentative late 2006 release. The CD, which will feature a guest appearance by MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums, will be "a full story/concept album," according to a posting on the group's web site.
